FOKU presents: A selection of contemporary Estonian photography
Estonian Union of Photography Artists (FOKU) brings the work of 11 active local photographers to two floors of Fotografiska Tallinn. The exhibition will take place in the framework of the launch of FOKU’s new online sales platform. If you are interested, you can buy the works by contacting a FOKU representative.
The works on display in the Fotografiska café area on the ground floor are more focused on the environment around them, and include nature motifs, still lifes and cityscapes. The works displayed in front of the restaurant on the sixth floor all share a focus on the individual, with moods that are introspective, slightly mysterious and immersive.
FOKU is a support platform and a representative voice for professional artists working mainly with camera-based art. Our aim is to introduce and develop contemporary art, to increase interest in visual culture and to raise the profile of Estonian artists both locally and internationally. FOKU’s most extensive activity is the management of the international contemporary art biennale Tallinn Photomonth, which will take place for the seventh time in autumn 2023. In cooperation with the Estonian Contemporary Art Development Centre (EKKAK), FOKU will also organise Foto Tallinn, Estonia’s only art fair every other year. The next fair will take place in autumn 2024.
