Save the Date: Studio Volkmann

November 27, 20:00–3:00

A new book by Toomas Volkmann is in the works, and a colourful nocturnal spectacle is taking shape at Fotografiska.

Doors open at 20:00, followed by a talk in Estonian from 20:30 to 21:30, then a party that spills into the night.

Sacred and profane. Beautiful and grotesque. A touch of decadence, a dash of adventure, and a journey into the murky territory between morality and desire.

Time to get dressed for Studio Volkmann. Think bold, theatrical, and a little over the top.

More details coming soon. In the meantime, go ahead and get your ticket.

TOOMAS VOLKMANN

Toomas Volkmann’s visual language is rich in symbolism, creating striking constellations of images charged with meaning and emotion.

His work is at once theatrical and discreet, morbid and full of life, grandly dramatic yet disarmingly intimate. His photographs have challenged the taboos of an Estonia long constrained by post-Soviet greyness, bringing presidents to magazine covers and pushing the boundaries of the country’s visual culture.

Volkmann’s work stands as both a document of its time and an aesthetic act of rebellion.
