Meet the Artist: Ivar Veermäe in Space
17th October 18:00
We have always admired the starry sky and wondered what lies beyond. Space symbolizes our desire to push boundaries, step into the unknown, and dream of the future among the stars. The exhibition “Space – A Visual Journey” brings together art and science, blending research and creativity to capture the universe’s vastness through the eyes of astronomers and artists alike. Works by 14 artists explore questions about Earth, space, and identity – who we are in this infinite cosmos, and who gets to dream of the future.
Among the featured artists is Estonian-born Ivar Veermäe, whose multi-part project includes a video on nuclear fusion and a photo series of the Sun altered through biological processes to explore the influence of microscopic life on images. Based in Berlin since 2008, Veermäe has participated in numerous international exhibitions, and his art often stems from in-depth research.
Join us on October 17 at 6 PM at Fotografiska’s Space – A Visual Journey exhibition for a talk with Ivar Veermäe, hosted by Fotografiska guide Elo Aun.
