Meet the Artist: Lebohang Kganye

Memory, Myths and Magical Worlds

Fotografiska presents a special exhibition by internationally acclaimed South African artist Lebohang Kganye (b. 1990), who transforms photography into immersive, life-size worlds exploring the layered histories of postcolonial South Africa.

Her exhibition Le Sale ka Kgotso draws on South African folklore while revealing myths and beliefs shared across cultures, shaped by similar fears, warnings and imagination.

Exhibition Tour

Join Lebohang Kganye for an intimate tour exploring the stories and meanings behind her exhibition. In a small group, you’ll discover her artistic process and gain insights into South African folklore and culture directly from the artist.

Whether you’re interested in folklore, cultural connections or experimental artistic techniques, you’re encouraged to ask questions and join the conversation.

The tour takes place in English in Fotografiska’s third-floor exhibition space. An elevator is available between floors, and the tour may run slightly over its scheduled time. Children under 16 can join for free; complimentary tickets are available at the ticket desk.
