Exhibition „NUDE”: Marta Vaarik & Gregor Kulla „We're naked”
19th of September 19.00
We strip away and lay bare our prejudices. Is the blond babe dumb? What is it like to live in the shackles of perfection? Is mediocrity a gift? What kind of journey is needed to feel one's own beauty? What is violence against women by women? In the spotlight, personal stories, vulnerability, and pain shine. And some secrets that have never been told before.
Marta Vaarik and Gregor Kulla. Them again? Yes, precisely them!
Come and listen. Come and talk. Come and be exactly as you wish on this evening, as whoever you want, with whomever you want.
What will happen? That will be revealed on the spot. What is certain is that Marta and Gregor will be in the "NUDE" exhibition hall. Marta and Gregor will chat, with each other and with visitors—those who wish to engage. Because consent is important. Consent will also be a topic of discussion.
The "NUDE" exhibition is a must-see. It raises questions, deep and profound ones. But also lighter ones, which are actually deep in disguise. Everyone will come up with different questions. We will walk through the exhibition hall and hear what Marta and Gregor think.
How long will it last? That will be determined on-site. At least an hour.
Marta Vaarik
Marta Vaarik boldly challenges cultural norms through painting, video, and performance art. She is a socially critical artist with great social sensitivity, who cares deeply about minority rights, mental health issues, and violence against women.
Gregor Kulla
Gregor Kulla is versatile and distinctive. He creates music and poetry, is socially critical, writes bold and fresh articles, fearlessly highlights queer topics, and engages in modeling. He does not like labeling and does not label others. In August 2024, Gregor's debut collection "Peenar" ("Flowerbed") was published.
Exhibition "NUDE"
In addition to exploring female identity, the "NUDE" exhibition brings together all kinds of bodies and gender identities from a broad social spectrum. Controversial social issues unfold in their raw and unembellished forms, accompanied by the burden carried by a gendered gaze.
Both the exhibition and its accompanying program highlight themes such as equality, body image, queer culture, consent, issues of patriarchal society, racism, violence against women, ageism, and many other urgent and noteworthy topics.
The naked body becomes a canvas for creativity, with modern perspectives, taboos, and society in all its richness as the colors. The result is an environment where expected roles no longer apply, habitual viewpoints are transformed, and power hierarchies are overturned.
